Mine seem to enjoy the challenge of trying to get it all in their mouths at once without using their paws.

I used to have three cats (now only have two - sob!) and only one of them chewed plastic but he would chew it obsessively! I don't think he was trying to eat it as such, though I'm sure he must have swallowed bits of it - it think it's the texture he likes, as tougher, more crinkley plastic was definitely more popular than supermarket bags, etc.
Don't the do it to clean and sharpen their teeth?
