You see a big house spider on your bedside table at night, you try to catch it but fail and lose it meaning that it is now somewhere in your bedroom roaming around all night.

Does it bother you? What do you do?

With regard to the theory that spiders do not go near human mouths, I am always happy to be corrected, if in error.

To those that say that spiders want to hide in the dark away from people, this was the spider from last night.

It couldn’t really have got much closer to me. As you can see that table is up against my mattess and the spider was sat directly under the bedside lamp.

If I see a large spider I put it outside. They don't really bother me. I've seen (in they Seychelles) spiders on telegraph wires that are as large as a human hand. I can't say I would want one of those in the house.
I once read that spiders don’t possess a brain as such but function on a nervous system - which reminded me a bit of a robot - and that put me off more. They’re not ‘human’!! :o)))
A web search
Obviously ;-)
Yes I had a friend like that Naomi. Her husband would have to come home from work to remove it or she'd stay outside all day.

We are not born being scared of spiders. Blame whoever brought you up.

I wouldn't settle knowing it was there - but I do not imagine it would last very long because if one of my cats sees it, it will be an ex-spider.

My Mum would sleep on the settee for weeks if she saw a spider in the bedroom.
I slept on the settee once when I saw and heard a massive moth flapping about in my bedroom.
When I was chatting to a friend a few weeks ago, she started screaming as there was a bat clinging to her curtains.
That's what you get when you live in a barn conversion.
No. If it gets eaten, it gets eaten.
Were you always frightened of them Naomi? If not can you remember what made you frightened of them and how old you were when that happened? Tell me to MYOB if you like.
I was never frightened of them but didn't particularly like them. They don't bother me at all now.
