When it was first introduced it was equal to an extra week's pension, which was £10 at the time. It has never kept up with inflation. Wouldn't even buy a packet of fags today. Must cost more to administer than the total sum paid out. It's a bit of a farce.

I know the £10 bonus is miserly, but it's better than nothing, isn't it?
