Why is this sham still going on, after The Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act was passed in 2002 ?

Oscar Wilde had it right here....

They say it is not hunting but 'pest control'.
Have you got that quote the right way round?
Question Author
Eddie...a very firm "Rowlocks" would be my riposte to that !

Pest control is Rentokil or the local council rat catcher. What this is, is circumnavigating the law, in order to ponce about in daft clothes, charging all over the countryside, trying to find a pest to kill.

Hunts also raise their own fox cubs, in order to carry out the above activity.
I thought Saint Tony had banned hunting.
Question Author
No Talbot, you are correct....a small mistake on my part, although it amounts to the same thing :::

"The unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible"

It really isn't, Eddie. Around here, they used to transport foxes over from Cornwall and release them an hour before a hunt- so it probably increased their numbers, if anything. Drag- hunting is much better and faster anyway. There are no excuses.
Question Author
TTT...."saint Tony" didn't do anything of the kind.

The HOC was offered a free vote, and it was wholeheartedly supported by lots of different people, even some Tories.

Read my link above. This is a report from the Scottish Parliament.
Question Author
As Pixie says.....there are no excuses.
//The HOC was offered a free vote//

but saint tony did employ a gross mis-use of the parliament act.
Question Author
Mush.....Hunting with dogs act was passed in 2004. The Tories have now had 6 years to attempt to repeat the Act, but have made no such moves to do so.

For good reasons I suspect....because any attempt would fail.

Anyway, this isn't about politics....its an animal cruelty issue. The same legislation also banned hare coursing, and where is the ground swell of opinion to bring that back ?
His Tonyness (mis)used the Parliament act three times in all.
//Anyway, this isn't about politics//

of course not. which is why you earlier described those who ride as being those who do it "in order to ponce about in daft clothes, charging all over the countryside..."

not political in the slightest. noooo. nooooo. noooo.
I sit on the fence with fox hunting but it is 100% political because of the fallacy that only rich toffs take part. There are equal animal cruelty issues surrounding badger and deer culling which are mainly carried out by local part timers who have a gun licence and like killing things, often inefficiently.
Question Author
Mush....lots of people ponce about in daft clothes. not just the Tory ones.

We are constantly told by the Blood Sports lobby, that 10,000's of ordinary people follow the Hunt, either on foot or by car.

See Prudie above.

The people who will be out today supporting the Hunt, will not be out there for culling pests....they are out there because chasing wild animals and then killing them. That is obvious to anyone.

If people want to ride their horses or go for a nice walk or a walk in the country, then they don't need the excuse of hunting to do so.
I'm calling for a ban on 'campaigners', aka left wing political activists.
Question Author
Shoota....do you support or condemn blood sports ?
'Hunts also raise their own fox cubs, in order to carry out the above activity.'

Got proof of that?
Or is that what you have been told by the left wing political activists you blindly believe?
^ Well done mikey x
I have a friend who lives in Scotland. He’s done okay for himself and now owns land but he started off in a Glasgow tenement and I can’t print on here what he would say if he was called a toff. He rents some of his land to local sheep farmers and when they get a fox over population problem they get a local bloke in with a gun who can shoot and he deals with it over a night or two. He calls the hunt “inefficient something something somethings”
