What does it matter if you don't shower every day? Some people are obsessed with showering twice a day which is ridiculous.

The only shocking thing about that is that some numpty got paid to gather those "useful" statistics!
''Almost two thirds can't be bothered removing make-up before they go to bed''

And a much higher proportion can't be bothered to put some slap on before they go out, when they clearly should... others have to look at you, you know...

(runs off quickly).
I agree
Hardly. I think this has been discussed before. Daily showering is relatively new. Last 4 decades at most ? Never was the case when I was a kid.
***Flint + Flint owner Maxine Flint, who conducted the survey, said: "I understand the appeal of a lie-in but skipping a morning wash is both anti-social for the people around us and unhealthy.

"We are talking about routines that literally take minutes out of your day. It's true that today's pace of life is fast but surely as a nation we haven't become too busy to wash.

"We were alarmed to hear about the number of women not looking after their skin by following basic skin care regimes.

"It is so important to clean your face daily and moisturise to slow down the ageing process."***

Would this be Flint+Flint the makers of skincare products, by any chance?
something about this smells a bit fishy to me.
The showers that I remember with horror were the ones we had to run through after PE at school watched by a rather suspect gym mistress!

Maybe that's what puts people off!
I was told I couldnt shower/bath for ten days after hip replacement
and read it with disbelief

Bouncers in Manchester have to have a bath every seven days even if they dont need one ! ugh dirty smelly anglos ..... what would happen if they liked eating garlic ?
Some women "can't be bothered to remove their make up or brush their teeth before sleeping". I must be a slattern. I never think of removing makeup. It comes off when I wash in the morning. (I only wear eyeliner). And I brush my teeth after dinner, not immediately before bed.
I wonder where they got their statistics. I can't believe that many women would admit to not showering every day.
Showering twice a day is not necessary, I agree.
When I was a child, I had a bath once a week. I think we all did. None of us called anybody 'smelly'........well, we did actually...but they were!
..."It`s so important to clean your face daily and moisturise to slow down the aging process" Yeah right. You`re not going to get wrinkles if you slap on moisturiser.
my dad's family used to just keep their vests on all winter. If you wanted hot water you had to heat it up over the fire. (Or so he alleged.) It was the depression; money was better spent on food than on smelling sweet.
If it's true I am quite shocked by it. I thought everyone showered every day nowadays.
It also depends on what job you do, I've done lots of manual labour work, and you certainly need a bath or shower at the end of the day!
I know I had a bath every night in the summer...I remember the grubby mark around the bath. Not sure about winter, but it was certainly more often than once a week. My dad didn't bath as often as the rest of us...he was a once a weeker. I suspect we yanks bathed more often as having the facilities was more common, even when I was a child.
Oh...and I do take makeup off at night...lippy and eye makeup...it feels yukky if I don't.
Dave, its not ridiculous to shower twice a day. I do it, i can't function if i don't and i can't sleep if i don't shower before bed. Its a force of habit, which i have done most of my life, i wouldn't change it. I personally think people should shower once a day, or once in two days, its not clean to not wash, and people can smell but can't smell themselves.

There was once a bloke i worked with and he had serious body odour, he left a trail of smell whenever he entered of left the office, in the end my boss had to tell him to maintain self hygiene (god knows how she managed that in a nice way), there is no excuse for making others suffer with your bodily smells urghh...but this is not a dig at anyone, just my opinion.
I bath when needed. In the summer or after a hard days graft, that means daily. If I'm lolling around at home, I'll often go a few days without. If I smell, I'll blame it on the dog :)
I can't understand not washing every day. It's something I've always done.
I bath every morning.
I'm surprised that I'm in the minority
