Has anyone else noticed there is a shortage of toothpaste in pumps (except the whitening ones)? None in Tesco, Morrisons, Asda or Home Bargains!

Nope?

Shedloads at my local discount shop, all for a quid.

I'll pop into town and look tomorrow Boo, thanks.
No...plenty in all the shops that I visit. But toothpaste in this form is more expensive. Also, why I am on the subject, why pay huge prices for expensive named toothpaste ? Buy supermarkets own-brand....it does the job just as well as the ones 3 and 4 times the cost. Its the brush that does the work, not the bl**dy toothpaste !
Ah in which case I'll try a dry toothbrush from here in ;-)
Saw an interesting story from The States about economy and efficiency. Instead of buying expensive tooth-whitening toothpaste buy two different common brands. As they have differing ingredients they combat different chemical problems and more effectively whiten if used one after the other in the same session...

I have an excellent toothbrush Mikey: a Phillips Sonicare which is probably the BEST toothbrush available, but I still like to use toothpaste! I'm pleased to know that there isn't a shortage. I'll try our bargain shops today. I have noticed that our Tesco (a huge Tesco Extra) is not as well stocked as it used to be. Sign of the times perhaps.
Sorry horseshoes...sign of what times exactly ? I am off to the Penzance Tesco this morning and I will report back later on this mysterious lack of expensive toothpaste.

Mikey, the "downturn" in their profits!!!
No sign of any shortage in Penzance horseshoes....lots and lots, all lined up like soldiers on the shelf. We have a smashing new Sainsburys here now, so I will check that out for you as well !

I am thinking of starting a new jib, as a Personal Shopper...well, they have them in Harrods !

Lol Mikey. Perhaps it's just a Welsh shortage. OH went looking again today, but still only the whitening one. NONE at all now in Home Bargains. It's very strange.
Can anybody tell me why toothbrushes and toothpaste are so expensive? We should all need/use them so we are told, I find the cheapest offers are either in local pharmacies or 'Poundshops,' so why do supermarkets charge twice their prices?
