I am thinking of filling in my pond but don't wish to harm the fish. Will they be ok if put into the local wild lake. Actually they are fairly black on their topside so they wouldn't be too visible to predators perhaps. Any suggestions welcome.

Can you not give them away free to collect?
Put a postcard in your local shop offering the fish free, sure someone would love to have them.
