thank you i have a friend in England who is ill,( very confused ) and she assured me it was a public holiday tomorrow, i didn't think it was,
Would there be a holiday so close to Halloween? Isn't there one then?
Wish it was, I'm knackered and could do with a lazy day.
Don't think it's a holiday in the U S but it is in Canada. Not in England though.
Sandy, do you get a halloween holiday in NI the same as down south? We don't over here, our next bank holiday is Xmas day.
Indeed it is. Minor Catholic public schools celebrate St Bernardino's Day, the day of sodomy. He was also one of the patron saints of Germany.....useless information on tap here.
Definitely a holiday in the US (Columbus Day) - though will anyone notice the difference or has all that stopped now :-)
In Ireland Hallowe'en as such is not a holiday in the south and definitely not in the North
It's Thanksgiving in Canada tomorrow
There be areas in the UK when it's half term - bit early though
No,but a lot of the schools are shut thursday for strike. Is she getting confused?
Rockyracoon, there is a Halloween holiday for schools here. Would it be called mid term break in the rest of UK?
Sandy, our schools will have a half term week around that time, a lot of schools will break up on Fri 25th Oct. In the South, I understand they get a bank holiday on the last Monday of Oct, our family in Dub always call it Halloween bank holiday.
