Hello, I have a 2 year old Labrador that moults really badly all year round. She is perfect weight and perfect health but just moults all the time. She sleep indoor but not in a room that too hot for her, because i know hot temperatures make them moult. I have to sweep the floor twice daily and get a big dustpan and brush full. Suggest to help this would be greatful. Thankyou x

Indoor dogs will moult all year round I'm afraid, due to the central heating.
My sisters lab was like that, just had to move and hair every where, could be the breed. Drove her nuts and us, he was like that the whole of his 15 years. Still miss him, hairs and all.
to lessen it get yourself a zoomgroom and take her outside once a day - these are brill paddle brush type thngs made of rubber.

I initially bought it for the cats but told my doggy mates and they all use it now and swear by it.

That's the thing I don't have central heating as we all do shift work, just a fire in the living room which they don't go in, THANKYOU for your responses x
My Labrador moulted all year round. He would shed more hair if he was anxious like when he was in the car. But he did not like sitting in the boot of our hatchback so he sat on the seat with the belt round him. No one ever sat in his seat. I also bought a dyson. I used it most days and it was always emptied every day.
You're lucky, we had a long haired GSD and like fairycakes we still miss him and the daily carrier bag of hair. I often wandered why he wasn't bald.
Ah,but JFuller, the moulting is meant, by nature, to be seasonal and it's affected by temperature variation. That the rooms the dog is in are always warm or cold makes no difference if the temperature doesn't change a lot.The dog in a house with constant temperature hasn't got the very marked change in temperature to trigger the moult and so it moults to some degree all the time.
Buy yourself a Furminator. Then take her outside and use it on her as often as necessary. Then throw the balls of hair into the field/hedgerows/garden for the birds to use to build their nests. Job done.

furminators are excellent, but i had the same problem with my dog, and the constant shedding was eventually diagnosed as stress and anxiety.
Labs are notorious molters. My dog is a lab X and she sheds most of the year, despite having a groomer giving her a bath every 6 to 8 weeks and regular grooming by me in between.....I recommend the Furminater as well.
Furminator brush is brilliant. I have a leonberger dog, and use Yumega dog oil in her food. AMAZING STUFF! Cut moulting down by 80%. Coat looks beautiful on my dog. Good luck! x
