I have never seen this before, but 2 pigeons were sleeping on my lawn for about 10 minutes until other pigeons came along and woke them.
Were they Spanish pigeons having their siesta, I wonder?

I agree with OG. Were they wood pigeons or racing pigeons having a rest? They would not be long on my lawn - the local cats would soon see them off one way or another.

Every lawn needs a terrier. The best cat scarer going. The birds know it too and happily peck around him.

They do that in my garden too...mind you it is a nice place place to rest. :o)

And in mine too Robinia. Wood pigeons that is. We have about three pairs nesting in the garden too at the moment. And the partridges often sleep on the garage roof!! ;o)
