I have a Parson Jack Russell who will be 9 this year. He's been a bit off lately, not the dog I know. The past few nights he's been acting odd.. it started suddenly, chasing imaginary things around the floor, it comes and goes but he just jumps up randomly and starts chasing nothing and then stares at the walls, like as if he's following something around the room but there is nothing there! He's been eating fine but I havent seen him drink anything for days and he's also started urinating ALOT...

I'm taking him to the vets but cant get there until after the weekend. So was just wondering if anyone knew what the cause could be or has any ideas until I can get him there??

ladybirder - I have just had a quick look - 'nuff said !
Hmmmmm. If this is genuine.

My cat was doing crazy things like this and it turned out he had a brain tumor =(

Vets now is my advice
Well I was wondering if the OP was perhaps strapped for money until Monday, as one of her previous posts tells of money problems. If we definitely knew that then we could offer appropriate advice, but without really knowing why she can't go until Monday I wouldn't want to offend. I see this dog has been ill before.
Even if the poster has money problems you could take the dog to the RSPCA or vet I am sure and explain the situation - I don't think you would be turned away if the dog is ill.
O I thought you meant that some (or all) of her posts seemed a bit suspect and she doesn't always reply either. I now think it may be a wind up ....
Oh....okay Munchausens by internet syndrome......
Chuckle woofgang. Have a look at her other posts though ....
No she doesn't always reply chapta which can be irritating but I thought her life seemed rather troubled if we are to believe what we read.
Greedy I said IF we knew she had money problems we could give her the appropriate advice but we don't know that and I wouldn't want to cause offence. I was hoping for a response from the OP so we could get an answer.
I did.
You hard hearted lot.
As Mrs O (I think) said recently may your armpits be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.
I'm sorry, I still think she's a wind up merchant and just sits back and laughs at all the earnest answers. Let's face it, there's a lot of that on here ! (I'll apologise if I'm wrong .... )
It's madness, if you ask me. ;)
chapta don't worry the thought had crossed my mind as well:-)

Late reply - I do apologise that I don't always answer and none of my questions have been a wind up! I don't get access to the Internet as often as I'd like, my posts are genuine questions... I can't see why I'd be seen as having no life, making up stories and asking people just for a laugh? Like I say I do apologise for not replying!?

On other matters my dog has floaters in his eyes (which caused him to see dots and chase them) so yes I took him to the vets....
and.......................?
I'm glad you didn't wait until Monday. What did they tell you?
Question Author
They can't do anything about that, and him chasing them is just his way of adjusting to them! As for thenot drinking iv been advised to change diet and see how he goes, something more liquid e.g food with gravy in it.
Question Author
Sorry forgot to say, to put him wet food to see if it encourages him to drink, also atleast he'll be getting some liquid in him, see how it goes and take him back for a check
Thanks for getting back to us and I hope he's OK.
