never even heard of them - if you post in animals and nature, the folks there might be able to help
Save your money, they don't work. I have used three different types over the past few years, would have had more effect if I'd thrown the things at the dog.

Thank you both for your reply, I was about to purchase one off the Bay.
Perhaps if you ask nicely they'll take the dog with them to give it a nice walk, or ride.

I bought one ages ago, my dog used to bark when I used it. Seriously, it was hopeless
Perhaps you should speak to them?
When we moved to a new house I came home to find a nasty note pinned to the door saying that the dog had been barking all day; supposedly from a neighbour although I don't find anything neighbourly about leaving a rude note on my door.
It was merely that the dog had not settled in her new home so was feeling nervous and barking at unfamiliar sounds. Once I knew she'd been barking I booked a week off work and worked at getting her used to her new surroundings and she soon settled.
I never did find out which 'so called' neighbour left the note instead of calling to inform me about her barking.
I've tried one for my Westie................complete waste of money.
is it outside? if it is have you tried shouting shut up or be quiet at the dog?
My new neighbours went out yesterday and left their puppy for I think, the first time. The dog cried and howled for 2 hours.................I just put a Meatloaf CD on and ignored it.
It would be easy to get exercised about this but if you don't bother to tell the neighbour that the dog is barking they are unlikely to know.
I told my neighbour that her dog barks all day when she is out, she insisted he doesn't. How the heck she knows what her dog does when she is out is beyond me! For the last 6 years I have had to put up with this mutt barking it's b0llocks off all day every day and I will be very grateful when it goes to doggy heaven.
Don't want to be controversial, but mine worked - at least for a while. Mr mac has let the dog get away with a lot of bad habits in the past few years...
daffy654 - why don't you offer to walk the poor dog. Six long years on its own day in day out. Your neighbour is an utter moron, both cruel and selfish. The poor dog barks cos it's lonely and bored. If it's as bad as you say, you could always report it to the council (how have you put up with it for six years??). It's the dog I feel for.

It's inside Pdust, the bloody thing broke one of my fence panels the first week they moved in but they have replaced that after I had a word with them.
There are very few bad dogs but very many extremely bad owners!
Agree madmaggot.
I am unable to leave my home on foot chaptazbru due to disability. Even if I could get around I doubt very much that my neighbour would allow me to walk the dog, she really does not believe that it barks all day. I did contact our EH dept at the local council about the noise and they were as much use as a chocolate fireguard, after making me fill in a 'noise diary' for a month they lost it when I submitted it, I did another one, submitted it and never heard back.
I love dogs and have, luckily, only had dogs that have barked when they were supposed to.

The little yappy ones seem to bark at a pitch that goes right through you and it is hard to ignore it. I can't think of anything (legal) that you can do - apart from something like this bark silencer.

Why don't you record the noise and play it back to the family at a 'suitable' hours of the day (or night) and see if that helps them understand the problem.
