putting dog into carry sling

Hi - I have an elderly shitzu who has arthritis and a heart complaint but who loves walks. I usually end up by having to carry him part of the way so purchased a dog sling.
I am having difficulty putting him in it and wondered if anyone has any tips! Probably sounds a daft question but up to now it is a two person job! Any sensible advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

a sling sounds strange ive never seen a dog one before try asking for tips from your local vet

deanna would it be possible to cut out a cardboad 'frame ' a few inches deep and put it in the top opening thereby keeping the sling open while you had two hands free to put woofie in the sling then take the frame out, zipped it up.
