Bumblefoot on canary

My canary was diagnosed with 'bumblefoot' yesterday and have started him on a course of antibiotics. Anyone got any ideas for what else I can do to help him? TIA

Google bumblefoot.

A common cause is hard or even plactic (*gasp*) perches. Get some twigs from a fruit tree about 1/2" in diameter as perches, and replace at least every year.
