A month ago we were burgled. Last week we had a visit from the C.I.D letting us know they have a name for the finger prints they found. They had to ask us if we knew the person they mentioned, this is so they don't say we gave them permission to gain entry. What happens now with our items?, will they have to pay up for them, or do we just simply say goodbye to our belongings?

I think you'll need to bring a seperate civil action against the offending party to retreive your goods.
Will your insurance not help? Sadly all that these scum seem to get these days is a holiday or a talking to - particularly if they claim benefits (which they will do)! Get them with whatever you can, ask the CID man or your local officer to advise. Good luck!
Will any of the stuff taken not come under home insurance?.
