Heya, I wonder if anyone know why cats do this. We have 4 cats, and everytime they finish eating, they start scratching the floor as they would do when they bury their business if you get me. Me and my mates are wondering why they do this, my friend is convinced it is their way of saying the foods crap, i thought they needed the litter tray at first but i dont think its that, then i thought maybe they are trying to bury the leftovers for later?not sure if they do this in the wild or anything? Any ideas?
thanks in advance :)

It is instinctive behaviour to hide their food. Your cat is obeying it's instinct to cover the remainder of it's uneaten food so it remains hidden and protected from scavangers. As covered in this thread. http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Animals-and-Nat ure/Question283643.html
