Odd cat behaviour - moving objects from room to room

My cat in constantly moving odd things from room to room making a strange meowing as she does it...anything from socks to scarves to baseball hats to shirts to towels. It's quite entertaining, I'm just curious why she does this. Any thoughts?

She is broody! My Tiddles used to do this with wet dishcloths. She would carry them round in her mouth mewing, then lay down with them and then knead her paws licking them as though they were kittens.

Is she perhaps making a nest?
