Any tips on introducing new baby to cat?

Hi All

We have a 15 month old female DSH cat. She has only known life with me, hubby & her. We got her from a friend when she was 3 months old & has lived a life of luxury with us!
Her temperament is very good; she's cheeky, lively, effectionate but not too clingy. Like most cats, she's nervous around new things/noises/smells but comes around.

I'm being induced with my first baby tomorrow & will be returning home with the little bundle early next week. Obviously we want to make the introduction as smooth & stress-free as possible.
Does anyone have any tips on how to introduce the two?

TIA

I wouldn't make too much of a fuss about it to be honest. Your cat may be put out by the household changes for a day or two but she will quickly come round I'm sure. Concentrate on you're new baby, as long as your cat is still being fed and payed some attention to she will not be too concerned in the end.

Also different cats react differently to household changes and stuff, she may be eager to join in and see what everyone's up to or she may prefer to hide upstairs, either way, just let her do as she wishes.

(I remember years ago when my sister was little we had two cats. brothers with very different personalities, whenever my sister would cry one of them would run up the stairs to get away from the noise and the other would run down the stairs to come and see what the noise was about!)
And goodluck with your labour!
