My cat started meowing REALLY loudly, and like someone had stepped on her tail when she came on heat. I think you are supposed to have them done a few weeks after their first heat, but you should ring the vet and tell them.

Good luck

thanks. she just sounds like she's crying! rang the vets and there gonna check her first, then either she have it done then or have to be done later thank you for the info
she will cry alot and the best way to tell it to stratch her on her back where her tail meets her body, if she crouches down, lifts her tail and opens her legs in a reseptive pose then yes she is in heat, the best thing to do wld b have her dun this decreases the chance of her straying for a male and gives you peaceful nights sleep. hope thats helped

hi thanks done the tail thing and she jus looked at me as if i was mad so done it again and she clamped her mouth round my hand!!! but she always slept all night never cryed? she seemed to have stopped crying now so very happy as hope this means she can be spayed tomorrow!! thank you
Expect a lot of yowling and she will be VERY affectionate with everyone. Keep an eye on her so she does not get out(she will try) or you WILL end up with kittens. Even keeping her in, she may attract unfixed neighborhood male cats. Usually i believe you have to wait until she is out of heat before surgery.
