I was told catnip was good for repelling moskito's is this true??

It's possible. It's not a particularly pleasant odour but citrus smells are supposed to be better at repelling mosquitos. One thing's for sure, catnip certainly doesn't repell cats. All the neighbouring moggies visit our garden to nibble at ours !
Catnip and other members of the mint family are mostly strong smelling and are good for repelling mosquito's, one of the best for this is lemon balm, a few sprigs in a small glass or vase is good for keeping them at bay..

I dont know about catnip but citronella is excellent. You can buy this as a scented candle which works even outdoors or as an essential oil Either way they have never failed me, and insect love to chow down on me,

Don't know about catnip - but the best thing I've found to stop the mozzies biting me is Avons skin so soft (soft and fresh). In the summer I use the shower gel and body lotion and I've gone from having 40 bites at once down to having 3 during the whole summer!
