Depends where you live. Abroad doesn't seem to be as humid as it is here especially as many holiday makers are close to the sea.

I was in Greece in May and it got up to 38. I didn't break out into a sweat once. Whereas here a 30 second trip to the shop and I have sweat dripping down my face.
I try not to go out in it that much anyway. Too hot. Just break out the parasol over the patio table, get the pina coladas and the paperback/magazines and veg out.
Thursday is going to be searing, apparently.
Could save us a few £ on the charcoal.
It's only advice, you can still go out to cook yourself should you wish to and many will.
Why do many Brits return burnt to a crisp then? Not all know or take seriously the problem of overexposure.
I think, Pasta, they often fall asleep in it.
pasta......they want to get that mahogany tan that makes the more attractive (like me) and have only one or two weeks in which to achieve this.
so.......they overexpose and burn. it is that simple.

Should I ring work and say I can't come in?
I would still be sitting outside were it not for those irritating thunderflies, although I do sit under a parasol.

I do find the heat abroad different. Two weeks in Tenerife and I'll happily walk round all day, here it's far more energy sapping.
just been cleaning the car phew! its hot may hose myself down ;-)
I have Dr's orders to sit outside - don't think it will be happening this week.

If the Met Office are advising us to implement these matters, will there be no TV weather forecasts seeing all their staff, will be staying at home keeping their curtains and windows shut?
Or doing the same at work perhaps?... :-)
They have special underground tunnels to get to the studios.
I'm dreading work this week...even though the prediction down here is *only* for 22deg...so far.
It's raining here, so I can go out and g
Get wet. Sorry about the half porst.
Nothing wrong with good advice, aog. We need to be sensible in the sun.
