Smoke has upgraded. He's now bring in live rats. 3 so far since last weekend. Have had to resort to using old fashioned traps which means Smoke is barred from sitting room overnight but taps dances on my bed all night whilst shouting at me. I've gone though his job description & pointed out the bit that says he's meant to remove them not rehouse them but no luck.

He is a pretty brave soul to take on rats. I thought that cats tended to catch 'easy' prey. Just dye the rats and sell them as pets.

The joys of being employed by a cat!
lol@ wolf, as you can see by my avatar, I like rats. Well one in particular, if they were loose in my house I would not be too happy.
You need to issue him with a Magnum, and I don't mean an icecream.
Unusual for a cat to bring in a live rat, rats put up one hell of a fight and boy can they squeal.
Only ever had one of my cats go after rats, thank fully she killed them though.
She was the tiniest siamese I have ever seen, but gutsy as hell.
No. 1 Son brought me a dead rat a few years back, and laid it lovingly beside my bed in the night...........
Talk about squealing Tonyav, have you heard a cornered frog?
One of my other siamese used to torment frogs, just jabbing at them with her paw, my goodness, didn't it kick up a racket.
Our guys catch frogs too - the three of them encircle them. The noise the frogs make, as ferlew says, has to be heard to be believed.
Ah but boxy you should appreciate a pressie from No1 son.
and you allow your cats to torment frogs?
Mine brought in a rat a couple of months ago. He's caught frogs, birds, a bat, mice and rats. It's quite surprising, because he must weigh about three stone and seems to do nothing but sleep.
No, of course you don't Woofgang, once you have identified the cause of the racket.
