I am not going to look at it - there is no point in getting upset.

I can't see what satisfaction anybody can get ill-treating an animal so much smaller than them. If they want a 'real' challenge we should stick them in with the big cats at the zoo and see how brave they are then.

This sort of thing is not about liking/hating cats - it is about these people not being very humane human beings.

Sometimes I feel ashamed to be of the same species as morons like that.

I too saw this on our local news and it's in this morning's Telegraph - hopefully this charming young man with get his comeuppance shortly. There is a name for people like him but I know I can't use it on AB.

Not over keen on cats, but no animal deserves to be treated this way. You have to be sick in your head and heart to do such a thing. What has got to me as well is some of the heartless comments that have been added.(Telegraph) There's no hope for some people.

The scary thing is, these sort of people go on to more sadistic things like murdering people. They have no emotions or feelings whatsoever. These people are a danger to society. If I had my way, I would put them down!

Some of the responses on that Telegraph site are quite callous. They seem to suggest cruelty is ok as long as there is other cruelty elsewhere in the world, or if there is a different crisis around. They can't seem to grasp it isn't an either/or situation but society has to try to get right whatever it can.
