There's that many adverts kicking about just now for clothes stores but i think Matalan is Hey Hey we're the Monkeys by the Monkeys.

I can see where your confusion is coming from. The Monkee's track is sung for the kid's version of the M&S advert. The Matalan advert is a rather cheeky take of the M&S adverts with Melanie Sykes leading the models.

Although some people have said it is the Kingsmen on Matalan tv advert singing Louie Louie, I think it is the Kinks version that is used. Can anyone back this up?

The Kingsmen did the original and its been covered by loads of bands including the Kinks. Will have to watch the ad again to confirm who does the Matalan version , tho the Kingsmen sound more than a littl like the Kinks
