Mariah Carey did a version but i think the version you are looking for was by Lou Rawls.

In the film it was actually sang by Gene Wilder but has been covered by several artists, most recently by bands Smoking Popes and Maroon 5. The song is heavily sampled in Mariah Carey's "I Still Believe" Pure Imagination Remix.)
