Wow... such a shame and such a great singer. I really wish I had seen them live, but he died while I was at school still and I just didn't appreciate them then.
Dad could've got me tickets for Wembley 96 magic tour but at 14 I was deemed too young to travel to London with my mates, but was promised I'd be allowed to see them on their next tour :-(
I have seen Roger Taylor and Brian May a few times since but never the great man himself.
The "what-might-have-been" discussions are always interesting. I have no doubt that Queen would have continued to make music together, though probably not quite so regularly as they did in the past. In many ways, they had nothing left to achieve. A wonderful band who had made some fantastic albums, played to millions all over the world. Perhaps Freddie would have made an album with Montserrat Caballé - who can say - but I bet it would have been wonderful!
He is still with us. He is immortalised by his music. In 1973, I was given the first Queen album by a friend and I accidentally played side 2 first. Listening through my headphones on high, I was immediately blown away by the opening bars of 'Liar'. And so began a long lasting love affair. One that will never die.
Royfromaus; I know music, like comedy, is subjective, but the best thing I can say about Lambert is that he is marginally better than Rodgers. And I wouldn't pay to see either.
I like Adam Lambert even though he is OTT in his own way and not trying to emulate Freddie. Although a few good songs on 'The Cosmos Rocks' that I like, I was never overly keen on Paul Rodgers.

Totally agree, Ken. Queen should have been laid to rest when Freddy died.
Totally agree, Roy. The least they could have done was to have released new material with their 'new' front men - a la Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Genesis, etc, etc. I have much, much more respect for John Deacon than i do for Brian May and Roger Taylor.
