Prolonging the life of Peaches & Nectarines

Can anyone suggest how to prolong the life of Peaches & Nectarines. I love both fruits so tend to  buy them in a pack (normally about 6 or so) but it drives me mad that they seem to go off so quickly....Any suggestions?

Don't keep them next to any bananas they make other fruit ripen more quickly.

Hi Laneyloo,

I am with grannyg on this,I have kept this sort of fruit in the fridge,and it stops it going rotten.Only one slight drawback, it can make the fruit a bit soft(squishy) but much better than throwing it away!?
