suspended and banned users

are suspended and banned users able to report threads?

if they are..why are they allowed to?

But I should imagine that after they have signed back in using another name, their first few minutes back are spent busily reporting their 'target'.........

maybe they use another sleeper id that they have had for a while, I have seen that on certain users when all their names have been suspended, people start appearing from 2005 ect lol

no, they're just like any other passerby: you can click on 'Report' but it then asks you to sign in. So they'd have to do it under another name.

I understood that if you are suspended you can't do anything until you are reinstated, and if you are banned, you are gone. I wouldn't know how to reregister under another name, I've only got the one email address and that's what they go on, isn't it?

it is, boxtops, but it only takes a few seconds to get a new hotmail or gmail address, and I imagine that's what people do.

I rather think that the type of personality who gets themselves regularly banned or suspended will have a handful of previously registered usernames to fall back on at such an eventuality...........

yes, I seen one a few weeks back jack, coming back from 2007, all past posts were troublesome, he was determined that he had turned over a new leaf. the reality was he was going through his back catalogue because he had been suspended so often

As jack said..they will have a reserve of names that have passed the initial 2 week period,and are ok to use.

if past offenders return and really have turned over a new leaf, fine, let them stay. A handful of long-term irritants have been permabanned, and that's okay by me; but if they come back and behave themselves and don't tell everyone who they really are and how clever they are, then no-one will be any the wiser.
