Hi, does anyone know where I can download a free version of this programme? I'm running on Vista and only need it for one document twice a month, so really don't want to have to pay out for it. The only ones I've found free are ones where you have to add a tool bar etc. and I'm not sure what to do....
Any advice?

I don't think you'll find Excel for free but have you tried OpenOffice? I'm told that's just as good.
You could try the beta version of office 2010, that will last until october (I think)
http://www.microsoft..../2010/en/default.aspx

Or the trial version of office 2007 will give you 60days use

But the best option for free is open office (as squarebear said)
http://www.openoffice.org

open office is about 95% compatible with excel, some of the more advanced features are not suppoted but most people don't use the non-supoprted features anyhow. just make sure you set it to save in MS office format.

.
If you only want to read/view an Excel file then Microsoft do a FREE Excel Viewer at
http://www.microsoft....1c-8dcf-f33f669dbc3a.
I use Open Office and have never had any problems with it opening XLS files, etc.
Yo say you downloaded it but you haven't said you installed it?

Have you actually run the file you downloaded and been through the install process?
