Arrest Warrant!

I have received an email from Dame Cressida Dick(!) telling me that they are going to issue an arrest warrant after seizing my computer for viewing indecent images and child pornography etc - and a file will be sent to the London Court of Cassation if I don't respond within 72 hours.

Should I be worried or should I just point out that Dame Cressida Dick is no longer the top dog in the Met?

Have the police actually seized your computer?
and Cassation is a check on the quality of contested judgments given by the courts of appeal as regards both the application of law and the legal reasoning behind it.

More like the 'Court of Castration' in my view.
It sounds like some thick scammer hasn't realised the scamware they bought to fleece the gullible has become outdated. Do you not wonder how they know your email address?

I get loads of spam emails and just delete them and block the sender. Most get filtered but the occasional one gets through, usually purporting to be from BT. And no, the police haven't seized my computer!
That's a scam, no doubt about it. Similar to the one I got from HMRC saying there was a warrant out for my arrest due to tax evasion!
chrissakes, there IS no court of cassation in the UK - it is an appeals court on the continent.

( appeals on law only, I have no ide why it has come up in the UK, was the email full of mistakes?)
Just ignore (and laugh quietly at the ineptitude). A lot of people like to reply and put them right - but that just educates them so that they can get it better next time.

I used to do some scam-baiting years ago and the trick was de-education. So you would repeat their spelling errors/factual errors etc and in fact try and increase those errors. The more errors they make the less likelihood is that they can trick someone. Because they are in gangs they share this stuff so one email "de-educating" could reach several scammers.
thx barmaid, I will give it a go
You'd be perfect, PP.
