It's a bit of a tricky one, orderlimit, without a more intimate knowledge of the case, imo.

Totally agree bud. they are at almost at 90% of the target already so should get there soon and hopefully some good comes of it.
someone who needs 24 hour care, is often best cared for in a care home environment. I doesn't make it clear whether he pays for 24 hr care because it's a want or because it's a need. In addition, 24 hour day care at home is so expensive - you need 2 people really as 1 person can't safely work for a 24 hour period. It would be nice for everyone to have the care they wanted in the place they wanted, but it's just not feasible. Also, the article is really pulling at the heartstrigs - veteran of 96, but is it therefore implying htat people who haven't fought in a war are less worthy? People who are younger are less worthy?
also, what happens when they get 200000 signatures?
signed !
And maybe it's wrong but there's a suspicion the family could be more concerned about money than what's best for the old chap.
Question Author
Well hopefully the state will pay for this chap to have what he wants.

would it make you feel less like wanting to pay if you knew that 24 care at home costs upwards of £2k PER WEEK? ie over 100,000 pounds per year
Question Author
Not me personally but i do get why others wouldn't.
I have signed, this gentleman deserves some respect, he has served his country well and this is how they treat him ! disgraceful, shame on you Brent Council.
Also signed.
Dee Sa, does that mean people who haven't served their country are not worthy of respect?
no of course not bednobs
Question Author
No it doesn't mean that bednobs. Yes it's awkward but hopefully a decorated WW2 soldier, POW and survivor of The Long March (hell) would have his service and the other factors recognised and given a high priority.
Question Author
I saw that last week I think it is disgusting. Refusing to help the old gentleman, yet we pay thousands to keep the immigrants and health tourists here and benefits for the workshy, and yet they cannot find it for someone who needs help in the remaining years of their life.
Question Author
Sign the form AYG :)
surely people's priority shoul be decided by their needs, not by what job the have done in life?
Question Author
Well yes but I personally think a WW2 Pow should be allowed to remain at home (for the obvious reasons) and I think the state should pay if he can't himself.
