new bogus call

new to me anyway an english voice recorded message telling me im over 60? and that i have £1000.waiting to be sent to me to activate this procedure press 5 OR to unsubscribe press 9 NOW...obviously this i going to activate a long message to me at a vast premium rate

I've been getting a few anonymous calls over the past few weeks - the silent type, when you know somebody is at the other end. I have a good idea who it is - idots.

deggers, are you over 60 don't answer if you don't want to, the reason I ask is I wonder if they are just random phone calls or do they actually know if the recipient is over 60 ?.

Never heard of anyone ringing info received from dialling 1471 unless they actually new the number

apparently these silent call are from indian/pakistan call centres they automatically dial your number but not picked up by the call centre if there busy with other "punters" i complained my phone company for a number change ( i get dozens of bogus calls weekly) they want£35.50 to change number ! said no they advised buy a call blocker from £30 to £70 !! dont think so i just unplug it now till around 6pm any body wants me they use my mobe number

Tone - I think these cold callers seem to have an alarming amount of information when you speak to them....only last week 'kevin' from India said 'hello mam, can I call you Denise"....what the f...k - I gave my normal polite Essex girl reply and replaced the receiver. {:o(

There are similar calls with an India voice telling people their own names and that they are having problems with their computer and to switch on the computer and they will talk you through it, this is a scam, and I always the last 5 times anyway say, I do not have a computer and put the phone down. Any other silent calls I just press the hash key several times, that is supposed to confuse the caller's computer.

We had a call blocker on a month's trial it did not work, in fact we attracted more cold calls.
