Why do I have to keep signing in to post a comment or reply to a question? This is unusual and has happened three times in just one session

This shouldn't be the case, you're quite right.

Was it after doing anything in particular that you were kicked out?

No reason that I'm aware of. It's just happened again with a posting to Home and Garden - DIY

Ab Editor, while on the subject of signing in. I've forgotten my password.

Open ab in a different browser and go to sign in. There is a "forgotten password?" link on the sign in page where you can have the password reset.
