Easily explained in my opinion: All the boards are connected in a line with a rope of some kind, creating one long bridge suspended over the water. The trick is to run fast enough across the water, as the rest of the bridge supports the board that is taking the monks weight. No, clearly the walking on water story is just made up nonsense and even shaolin Monk can't do it either. Nobody ever could and ever will walk on water without assistance of mechanical mean.
You simply don't know where the stepping stones are.
I definitely agree with what Ratter15 said. "Made up nonsense" is a perfect description.
Why do they claim he runs on water when clearly he is running on a floating bridge ?

It all depends how you look at it. If your line of sight was low and near the surface it would appear that he was performing a miracle.
No Sandy. The chap appears to be running on a kind of causeway made of wooden boards. While this looks wonderful, it doesn't prove anything. Like most things associated with religion, walking on water is just made up.

But thanks for the video !
To answer sandy's actual question, YES.

This could be how the original myth of walking on water arose.

Then the detail got lost - surprise surprise.

Wouldn't as little sleight of hand, or feet in this case, be acceptable if it brought unbelievers to faith?

sandy...if people can be persuaded to believe that the Ark really happened, and the Grand Canyon was made only 6000 years ago, getting them to believe in walking on water should present no problems !

I fear I'm casting the seed of faith on stony ground here
Sandy...I am reminded of that old joke about the lady who had a parrot called Onan, because he spilled his seed on the ground.

I was going to put: spilling the seed of... but thought better of it. ☺
Dynamo knows how to walk on water. But there was no plexiglass in yer olden days, so Jesus walking on water is a fib.

Even the sea of Galilee is not a sea, merely a lake.

Easily explained in my opinion:

All the boards are connected in a line with a rope of some kind, creating one long bridge suspended over the water.
The trick is to run fast enough across the water, as the rest of the bridge supports the board that is taking the monks weight. As he moves across the bridge, each board he steps on, starts to sink into the water, but its rate of descent/sinking is slowed by the support it gets from the rest of the bridge. If the boards were not connected, then this wouldn't work - each board would sink almost as soon as the monk stepped on it.

Hope this makes sense :)
Walking on water is possible. I've seen Dynamo do it on the River Thames. So it must be true.

Birdie, you have been vouchsafed a sight that would have St Thomas the apostle crying out, 'Credo', and falling into line.
If a man can do it in our day why not the SOG in ancient times?
now if i attempted it and succeeded it would be a miracle
Question Author
All you need is faith. You'll remember in one of the Indiana Jones films people walked on air because they believed they could.
