i recently filled an accident claim form from local Council after having a fall. They have refused me compensation, would it be worthwhile to contact a lawyer to act on my behalf?

Would someone please explain the differences between these two statements.

She has no claim. She can go to a 'no win no fee' solicitor but they will make her pay for some sort of insurance...that's even if they bother to take the claim on.

I've claimed compensation before....It was my doctor who told me to...It's a long drawn out process and I was 100% in the right (me and my son got knocked over on a pedestrian crossing)

I just wish people could see the bigger picture and the damage such large amounts of frivilous claims do. People get injured, always have, always will.

It will get to the point where things will get so crazy that occupiers will do anything to avoid a claim, probably not by going OTT with health and safety but by stopping access.

If the council stops bothering providing facilities, like doc mentions, society will suffer. By doing away with parks and playgrounds and such there is no point really keeping the land which will probably be sold and end up as, say, new housing so there are more people in an area with no facilities...

There are enough kids out hanging about on the streets at the moment without adding to the problem by taking away place they can go.

i suppose the council should just stop providing steps to anywhere... see how you get on then...

Councils should use an alternative to wooden steps, when they are to be placed close to and near beaches, they can be very slippery after rain,
with soil and sand adding to danger.
Someplaces steps are only there, for a pathway to the beach preserving coastal environment,
instead may be replaced with natural crushed beach rock shell beach sand.
I too have had a slip on the wooden stairway at the beach,
at Victor Harbor South Australia and visit the Doctors for a ultrascan on shoulder tomorrow
