I'm buying materials for my first custom fixed blade and am unsure if the steel I'm looking at will do the job. Its a "Top Grade CR4 steel" from eBay. I plan on using this knife for display purposes only so I'm not bothered about the quality. Will this steel be able to do the job?

Thanks

Post a pic when it's finished Neo. I've made a couple myself but I used kits with ready made blades.

Display purposes only - surely there is no 'job' to be done?

Im thinking more the ability to be cut easily and filed easily.
You'll really need to grind it to get a good edge, Neocubes.
I know a lot of custom knife makers buy old files and use them to make blades from.
CR4 is used in the repair of car panels so I would assume it is easily worked.
