Bank charges aren't "sold" - they are just charged. And it's taken you 72 months to notice?

Hi,i seemed to have put my wrong question about bank charges, sorry about that guys.what it is ive been paying £12.95 per month for six years with the rbs and was informed that if you didnt need the offers the bank was giving you can claim your money back, the bank informed me i had a special interest rate on my credit card, overdraft facility and all offers,i have been told by the bank that they will not be paying compensation,so ive sent a complaints form to the financial ombudsman
It also depends how this was sold to you- were you pressured or misled about it, were you told you had to have it, can you show the bank should have known it wasn't appropriate for you? The bank may argue six years seems a long time for you to take to notice it.
Are you sure this isn't just the monthly charge millions of us pay for our accounts? I've been paying that for years, it wasn't mis-sold it's just the charge for the type of account I've chosen.
Yes, that's what he means- he opted for a packaged account and now decides he doesn't need it and wants to get his money back for the last six years.
Good luck with that then.

If you watched Martin lewis a couple of weeks ago on tv,he was asking people in the street do pay bank charges on your account, most of them said yes but didn't know why, claim it back he said,so i did this and got a right Sugar letter of my bank stating i have been given a low interest credit card, cheap overdraft facility, cheap hloiday insurance bull Sugar, mobile phone insurance ,places to eat out, okay i had the first two granted but weren't told i would be paying £12.95 per month, now they are treating me like a lepper, downgraded my account, reduced my overdraft facility,so ive sent all the details to the financial ombudsman
