butler sink, it's getting quite coffee stained, marked, have tried elbow grease
not much use, filled the sink with hot water added soap powder, it's ok but doesn't really get it clean, any product on the market that will. I don't want to keep on wasting money - anything that will work on the loo as well.. if not something else?

Have you tried Barkeeper's Friend? It's a bit like Ajax but much more effective.

Mines not old so that would be why mine doesn't stain. I'll come back to this thread in 10 years or so :-)
I have used Astonish paste cleaner in a tub, pink stuff and found it great for cleaning stains, even shines stainless steel and doesn't scratch, not sure where you can get it now though, perhaps Amazon or Lakeland?

mine is about 10 years old, in sink terms that isn't old, just looks less than white, clean. The bath however is beyond saving.
I use diluted bleach in a spray bottle on mine, leave for an hour and it's done. As I live in a very hard water area, I descale it with anti-limescale spray overnight from time to time and then finish with the bleach spray. It's like I've got a new sink (except for the odd chip here and there!)
