Hi

I have an old Philips portable TV but need to buy a flatscreen one now as I have moved. The existing TV has a great feature where it turns itself on at set times to wake me with Breakfast TV.

I have looked around and cannot find anyone who now does this - Tried Philips, LG, Samsung manufacturer sites but its not featured? Can anyone help at all?

Thanks!

Take another look at the Samsung website:
http://www.samsung.co...dex.idx?pagetype=type

When you find a set that interests you, click on 'Tech Specs' and look for 'Clock & On / Off Timer'. It seems to appear alongside almost every model, e.g:

As an alternative, I assume you could just plug any TV into a programmable timer and set it to switch on whenever you wish??
Don't think this would work. Modern TVs would switch "on" to "stand-by".
To confirm what Chris said, My samsung has 3 timers that can be set for various options (see below)

I think the timer plug idea from Wak would work on some TV's but not all, it wouldn't on my Samsung as that does come on straight into standby but my Parents phillips TV comes on at the last channel you were watching.
You really must get a better Winamp skin : ) Tried MMD3?

NOT SURE YOU EVER FOUND YOUR ANSWER BUT, IT APPEARS THAT SONY'S "EX" SERIES HAS THIS FUNCTION.
I DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE STILL LOOKING BUT, SONY MAKES THE "EX"SERIES THAT HAS THAT FUNCTION.
