We have a manager at work who these last few days has used the saying we need more joined up writing, she means this in relation to us all getting on doing our work no niggles etc .
None of us at work have heard this before, it's like she's just read it in a book and has to use it daily, and to be honest if I hear it one more time I feel like screaming.
Has anyone here heard this saying ??

Tell her that you've decided to think outside the box and that you need to get all your ducks in a row because you're not all singing from the same hymn-sheet.

What you could do is drop "imagineering" casually into the conversation and see if she picks up on it... ;-)

I think you should visit the home and baffle her hehe and Mccfluff reckon a job swop could be fun mmm
If you complain, her answer will be "It is not acceptable" . That is jobsworth and manager speak for "I don't like it but don't want to admit responsibility for the decision. I prefer to pretend it offends some divine law, sent from above ,which we, obviously, must all obey without question" Reply "Not acceptable to whom?" and see what happens.

I wouldn't waste my breath complaining because she couldn't possible be in the wrong !
I am just grateful I have been offered another job, the interview I had there was so informal and the manager said she really appreciates her staff and loves laughter in the workplace, definitely the place for me.
I have given my best for 15 years to that place and I can't fault her on how she wants the best for the residents like we all do, but to lose staff like she is doing now isn't good for the home.
Your manager is probably thinking of "joined up government", a late 1990s policy of Tony Blair, to make different departments in the same government work together. http://news.bbc.co.uk...cyclopedia/211553.stm
