1d: why is the answer Dad's Army?

I'm reasonably happy doing the Telegraph crossword, but finding the Guardian quite hard to get my head around. The style of clue seems completely different!

1d PMT, did you say? (4,4)

Hi SirKnapp & welcome to AB!

I'm afraid the answer isn't 'Dad's Army', it's -

Earl Grey - you say "PM tea"

Thanks Lie-in King, I was reading someone else's question and answer on this site and couldn't understand their hint (something about the home guard). There is a Dad's Army theme to this crossword which threw me off.
Happy to help :-)
Sorry my veiled clue was not u'stood by all:"D.A." was all about the Home Guard, though (for those who never saw it)!
