Has anyone any experience with heated gloves. My husband is on a course of Chemo and the side effects mean his hands are quite painful when he touches anything cold. I don`t want anything fancy just something to relieve the tingling which affects his hands in the cold. Thanks

Hi oxymoron. A friend of mine has had just this problem. They were having oxaliplatin chemotherapy and suffered terribly with tingling and sensitive extremities for a week after each cycle of chemo. Touching, eating and drinking anything vaguely warm or cold caused their tingling to worsen. They found that wearing normal winter gloves helped.

If he uses the pc for hours on end he can get fingerless mitts which are heated via the usb. They are much better than you'd think.

Use oven gloves for handling frozen food.

You can buy quite cheaply hand warmers that fit in to any glove or pocket. I think they're great.

It is really that your husband lets the oncologist know that he is experiencing these side effects as is some cases they can reduce the amount the chemo you are given which helps to lessen the side effects.

My husband suffers from extremely bad circulation to his fingers, and they turn white and stiff. I purchased for him a little gadget which is a hand warmer which is lit inside, called a Zippo Hand Warmer. It is filled with lighter fuel, and once lit, lasts for about 8 hours. It comes with a cover, and is lovely and warm for ages.
Don't know if these are what you are looking for - Just google Heated gloves, there are several site that come up.
