Both could be misleading ............. better would be:

The poem reveals three voices talking about the effects hard work in the fields can have on their bodies.

the second. The first makes it sound as if the fields are on their bodies
Neither. You can't have a superlative of two items (ie best); only a comparative (ie better)

The second is better than the first. Grammar says you can only have a "best" of anything if you are comparing three or more. As you are only comparing two then the question should be "which is better?"
I am genuinely not nitpicking...but you asked a question about English usage so I thought you might like to know.....

Right, "better" is better than "best".

The word "nitpicking" is new to me. It seems similar to finding knots in the bulrush, a local idiom.

I appreciate your answers.
nitpicking is when you are overly choosy about something, often in a way that is offensive to someone else.
