NHS
there is some info re vacancies here. it seems to be general clerical work.

http://www.indeed.co....tant+Band+2&l=England
can vary..typical is admissions, data entry, reception, and text processing.
Generally Reception staff, ward clerks, note collectors... It doesn't require much experience and is a good step in the door. There is no specific role, just the banding.

so if you do: invoice checking, letter typing, filing, ordering stock and stationary, answering telephone calls, ordering other stock, checking database.......and general admin duties
Could be a band two job yes, it would depend on the knowledge and experience needed and the freedom you have to act within your role what the band is. If you are uncertain look at your job description.

they haven't given me a job description, they have said they will type one up at some point, do they have to give me one and is it against employment law not to give me one, i have been in this post since oct.
No idea about the law.

If it's a temp post then they may be making it permenent and typing up a job description to go with a suitable banding.

If the role was permenent when you started then you should have applied against a job description with a banding already on it as Agenda for Change has been going since 2004 and no admin/clerical job is generally advertised without a banding. If it was a new role then a job description would have been done and matced against a national profile before it was advertised.

I would suggest you need to speak to your manager and/or a member of HR.

I was temping and then made permanent and offered this band 2 job, this was a new job open and due to the recession climate and struggle financially i decided to go for it, and still not got a job description, thanks to you all for your help. x
If they're making it permenent then they'll write a job description or use a generic one and taylor it and it'll be matched to or will already have a banding. If they know they already want you then chances are they will advertise internally and you will probably still have to interview. When you receive your new contract then it will have the details of the banding and the increment of pay you are on. Make them do it sooner rather than later, until you are officially an employee rather than a temp you will be missing out on sick pay and annual leave as well as not being part of the pension scheme should you so wish.
