ipod touch 3rd gen not jailbroken

i have on my ipod touch a large amount of contacts in the contact section. my question is , is there a way of backing up this list from my ipod to my computer?...safely without any way of deleting them in error, thanks in advance and merry christmas.

If you were to rtfm it tells you how to backup contacts etc.

without the rtfm route, surely common sense tells you to look at itunes!

If you have lost the manual you can download it from web site. Thats what I did before I posted earlier answer. It's surprises me the number of questions that are posted on here that could have been easily answered by a little bit of Googling.
