jno jnr has been beaten to a flat he liked by someone who was prepared to offer cash for it. But what difference would this make to the seller? He's got mortgage approval from the bank, who will provide the money just the same.

perhaps the cash buyer has promised a set completion date. No matter what mortgage companies say and what theyve already got offered they can still delay sales, especially leaseholds. the seller was probably wanting a quick sale with little bother.

could be, I guess, redcrx. jno jnr's bank is Lloyds, I think, so shouldn't have been any problems, but who knows. Maybe the seller just bonded with the other bidder more.
