may depend on whether he's forced in front of the Standards Committee (avoidance of which, allegedly, was the reason Sunak didn't withdraw the whip). could end up shining a light into a very dark corner of conservative politics......

The fact that Rayner won't come clean about her living arrangements, or, whether she made fraudelent tax claims, and that Starmer supports her actions  without ever seeing any evidence to the contrary, must cast doubt on the integrity of both of them. So Gulliver to answer my own question to you, YES I do think that Rayner could destroy Starmer.
