I've recently developed incontinence overnight. I'm waiting to be visited by the incontinence nurse but wondered whether anyone on here could recommend something for me. I've not been drinking (water, tea etc) as much, but find I am producing a LOT of urine at night. Help appreciated.

Thank you Barry. I will get in touch with AgeUK tomorrow. I'm not cutting back fluids drastically, it's just until the incontinent nurse visits me.

HW, if you have developed the incontinence overnight, might you have a urinary tract infection ?

Anneasquith - it's following a problem with low sodium which caused me to have several falls and I ended up in hospital last week. When the incontinence nurse comes I'm sure she will explain why it's happening.

Oh, I hope you get settled soon .

Thank you. I don't think I will ever be embarrassed again!!!

Best to just buy or order some pads until the nurse visits. They are readily available and no more embarrassing than buying any other personal products.

I'd recommend buying adult disposable pull up pants rather than just a pad. They're more secure and do the job better.

I have this, I understand how shocking it can be. I felt that I didn't have a UTI, but I had antibiotics anyway, and it went away. That said, I am still having to get up a couple of times in the night. Could you possibly be diabetic, and your body is trying to force it out of you due to the sugar? You can buy urine strips from Amazon and see if there is glucose in your sample.

Thank you Scarlett. No, I'm not diabetic. I have been using Tena Super Pants and they are brilliant. I also don't drink much after 5.00 in the evening.
