//A row has broken out after a museum adopted objects found in a sunken Tudor warship as being 'queer' in an attempt to interpret them as representing LGBTQ+ stories....Professor David Abulafia, of Cambridge University, said: 'With all due respect to its authors, the highly speculative comments about Queering the Mary Rose have as much connection to the shipwreck as a tin of Heinz baked beans.'//

So one question. Why?

Why? Because this agenda must be rammed down the throats of every British schoolchild at every opportunity. It's a sad day when kids can't even go round a history museum without having Pride flags waved in front of their faces.

Spungle; I don't think that I said that England was weird.
No, you said that America was, though. Again, you're welcome to that view. But it would be insulting to me if I lived there.
sailors knew that it might be "wine, women and song" when they were ashore but it was "rum, bum and concertina" when at sea. Only the terminally woke could pretend everyone limited themselves to heterosexual activity when out of port and that they hadn't a clue what gayness might mean.
spungle is bang on, this cobblers is the new fascism. Go along with the "correct" view on any given subject or be punished. That is fascism, pure and simple.
I think there may be some confusion arising from homosexuality taking 'gay' for its own.

oh come on come on.

Elizabeth (*) called Drake ' a gay dog' and she didnt mean
" he whistleth all the live long day" -

so gay has always been louche - less louche perhaps prior to the second world war - which led so many social changes

(*) "Elizabeth foo who she den? she king or something?" - the sparky one liners from the usual suspects - - - overwhelm one.
and that they hadn't a clue what gayness might mean.

at sea it wasnt looked on as gay. it was only Krafft ebing who changed that view in the naughty nineties
at sea it wasnt looked on as gay

well, yes, that's what I said.

Drake had two wives, in no particular order, so he obviously had something to hide. But perhaps like any ageing roué he found his craft ebbing...
The authors of this nonsense are obviously not up to such a prestigious job at the museum. They show such stupidity as to engender embarrassment.
