Sqad, sorry this is so long but want to give all relevant info.
I have been taking Amlodopine 5mg, Bendroflumethiazide 2.5 mg and Perindopril 4 mg.for high BP for a number of years.
Last time I took BP readings morning & evening over a week they were lower than previously so the Practice Pharmacist suggested that I stop taking Bendroflumethiazide for a month and then re do readings. Those results were ok so she then suggested stopping Bendro... permanently which I have done. That was approx 2 months ago and now for the past week I have pains in my legs and a pins & needles feeling.
Also, my last optical appointment showed that my eye pressure is 24 in both eyes, I'm getting that rechecked next week. Do you think there is any connection between stopping the medication and my symptoms?

Rather than chopping and changing about my advice would be to keep on the regime that you are on at the moment, keeping an eye on your BP. I don't think that the pain your legs is anything to do with Amlodopine.

ellie.....if you were symptom free but your BP readings were "a bit low" depending upon ,how low, i would not have suggested stopping Bendroflumethazide.

However, that is done now.

No, I cannot see any connection between dropping your Bendroflumethazide and your symptoms.

Whe do people meddle, when there is no need?
ellie.....keep an eye on those BP readings......if they tend to climb, go back on them.
What were your BP readings when you advised to change?

Thank you Sqad. I was feeling a little light-headed at times prior to going off them and when asked, mentioned this to the Pharmacist.
Before I went off them for a month B.P readings varied slightly:
e.g 112/66 (a.m an hr after tablets),109/63 p.m
107/62 (a.m 90 mins after tablets), 114/69 p.m
After being off for a month readings were e.g:
126/76 (a.m an hour after tablets), (119/66 p.m)
126/69 (a.m 90 mins after tablets), 115/76 p.m)
This morning it was 125/74, 90 mins after tablets
Thanks ellie......you readings looked fine before your tablets were taken off.
Monitor the situation for the next few weeks.

Thanks Sqad, I wish now I hadn't listened to her, I just assumed it would be a positive move to be taking less tablets! Do you think they are presently ok?

Also , do you think Amlodopine could be causing the pain in my legs now even though it didn't before?
Rather than chopping and changing about my advice would be to keep on the regime that you are on at the moment, keeping an eye on your BP.

I don't think that the pain your legs is anything to do with Amlodopine.

Thank you so much Sqad, I'll do that. Hope you're keeping well
